Profile
Keri Baker played club soccer for Spirit Soccer Club her entire club career. She was on the North Texas Olympic Developmental Program’s State Team and attended several Regional Camps.
Keri graduated from Marcus High School in 1994 then went to Lynn University in Boca Raton, FL on a scholarship to play keeper for her college team. She has played with and against several International and World Cup players. Keri played goalkeeper from 94-96 where she still holds several NCAA and NAIA goalkeeping records including "Fewest Goals Allowed in a Season," which is on the record book for Shutouts and "Goals Against Average." In three seasons, her college team went to three National Championships were they won two and came in second on the other.
During the Spring before her Senior year, Keri injured her knee and had to have surgery preventing her from playing her Senior year. Instead of coming back and playing keeper her fifth and final year, she negotiated with her coach for a chance to play on the field. Her coach reluctantly agreed and that year later became her most memorable soccer year ever. While playing defender, Keri’s team made it to the NCAA Division II National Championship game, again. She did not start in the game and they found themselves down 1-0 not too far into the first half. Keri came into the game a few minutes later and scored on a header to tie the game up. During the second half, Keri denied a shot from the other team with a header over the goal. Minutes later, Keri assisted in the game winning goal.
Keri is the only player in Lynn University history, not to mention several other programs, to win three National Championships including two as a goalkeeper and one on the field. Keri has been nominated to the Lynn University’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
