The Liverpool 93 (Duke) ladies return home CHAMPIONS from the 2009 Houston Open soccer tournament over the Memorial Day Weekend (3-0-1). It was a great way for the team to finish their first soccer season together. The girls won their first 3 games, then went on to play the final match on Sunday afternoon after a rain delay. As the whistle blew for the final match the rain clouds rolled in and it started to pour. The girls played on. They were all determined to finish first place. During the first half of the final match the team played hard with multiple shots on goal. Then the rain stopped just in time for the half time break. After a short half time break they went back out onto the field to battle for the final victory. They were determined to finish champions. Which is exactly what they did. Not one of their opponents scored on them the entire weekend. Congratulations and well done ladies!
