The Liverpool Advantage

The Programs That Make Us Great

Power Offense/ Power Defense- This flagship Program is a favorite among the players.  Held 3-4 times each year, the competitive players come together in one location with 16-20 coaches for a night of skill, strategy and fun. The athletes are coached by many of our staff throughout the night learning different techniques and finding the camaraderie that embraces the saying… “You’ll Never Walk Alone.”

Naming Tradition- Liverpool FC America carries the namesake of the greatest soccer name in the world.  The history and heritage that surround Liverpool, England are embraced with dedication and devotion here “across the pond.”  The players that Liverpool has produced over their history, names like Shankly, Paisley, Hunt, St. John, Torres, Gerrard and many many more are remembered every day as our academy teams adopt a “legend’s” name by which they are distinguished.  Players learn, honor, and applaud their namesakes.

Liverpool Reds Academy Program- Innovative, visionary and driven to excellence, this program invites an athlete at the age of six to begin developing their foundation of technical skills, knowledge and understanding of field positions all in a fun, positive atmosphere!  One of the fundamental goals of the academy program is to prepare players and teams to “go select” at the age of U-11.  During this process, our professional coaches are trained to identify a player’s strengths and create the best possible environment where a player can develop their confidence and abilities to play the game.  Engineering success is what the academy is all about.

College Night- College Night is an excellent introduction to our College Athlete Placement (CAP) program.  The process of becoming a collegiate athlete or even finding the right college or university for each player is a complex one.  The CAP program is about making that process easier.  Our College program itself has several key parts and parents are introduced to these parts at this one seminar, College Night. Attendance at College Night is strongly encouraged for all of our High School age players.

Technical and Tactical Training- Liverpool teams have the opportunity to train with our Liverpool senior staff coaches four times a year.  During these Technical and Tactical Training sessions our most experienced coaches develop unique team specific training sessions for every team in our club.  Our DOC Chris Pulpaneck, our Technical Director Jimmy Melia and our Boys Director Wilco Ravestijn will train each Liverpool team during the course of a season with three main goals:
  1. Allow the players to experience different coaching techniques and hear familiar strategies taught in a different way.
  2. To address the specific training needs of the team and infuse the experiences of our senior staff into the teams within the club.
  3. To provide an opportunity for parents, players and coaches to get to know the senior professionals in the club and for our senior staff to get to meet the teams.
  4. Create an opportunity for our senior coaching staff to help our head coaches evaluate teams and identify areas where the team is successful and areas where they can improve.  By evaluating the teams, our senior staff will provide feedback and input to help make the teams more successful throughout the year.

Tryouts- Tryouts are the formal beginning of the soccer year for all of our competitive teams.  Throughout the summer, coaches, teams and families have been dedicating themselves to building the best team possible.  Tryouts shine as a spotlight on those efforts.  Tryouts are usually held at Blue Sky Sports Center of The Colony. July 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, each team meets, trains, and receives their “contracts” for the upcoming year.  Several teams from each age group will be together on the field throughout the evening joining the time-honored tradition of the first day’s workout. Spiritwear, music, the graduation ceremony and more mark the traditions of Tryouts. After the first three days with the club together, the teams continue to hold their own tryouts from July 4th through July 10th at each team’s specific training venue.

Hawaiian Falls Signing Party- For one special day each year, athletes, families and staff take the soccer cleats off, grab the beach towels and swimsuits and head to the Hawaiian Falls Water Park in The Colony for a “private” after hours exclusive party celebrating the spirit of Liverpool.  This is one of our athlete’s absolute favorite events! The full event tickets include a hamburger/hotdog buffet in the ticket price! Fun for the entire family!  Friends, neighbors and siblings are welcome to celebrate the new soccer year with all of our Liverpool families.

Academy 101- This parent education program highlights the differences between recreational soccer and academy soccer.  At the point of introduction, Liverpool believes that parents who understand the direction and purpose of the academy will also support it over the long haul.  The meetings are held by team with the Director of Communication and Administration and other club officials.

Select 101- Parent education and awareness is key when players are preparing to go through the U-10 year.  The U-10 year takes the development stages of soccer and adds to it the dedication to creating the team itself.  Academy by the nature of play tends to be about learning the fundamentals and technique while beginning to absorb the knowledge and understanding of positions, responsibilities and strategies while on the field.  While the focus begins to change, so does the dedication, time and discipline that will be asked of a player and the family and in doing so creates the need for the team to move together in a specific direction.  This meeting allows parents a question and answer session to fully comprehend what is ahead of them for the year.

Roadmap to Select Soccer- As parent education goes, there is no more important presentation than the Roadmap to Select Soccer.  This two hour seminar takes parents through every aspect of club soccer and creates a complete understanding of what it means to “go select” including but not limited to:
  • time requirements
  • dedication
  • contracts
  • rules and guidelines
  • club policy
  • financial responsibilities
  • travel
  • leagues
  • tournaments
  • practice facilities
  • Club responsibilities
  • Coaches expectations
  • Summer Schedules
  • And more
Traditions Banquet- Liverpool is very excited about this new event and believes it will add a tremendous way we can recognize the gifts our athletes, coaches and families give to Liverpool through their dedication, support and willingness to give of themselves to the betterment of the club.  Liverpool believes every athlete, every family, every parent, every coach matter a great deal.  Each year, there are those members of the Liverpool family that go above and beyond in their efforts and accomplishments to better the club.  We are looking forward to recognizing and celebrating the year of soccer accomplishments and successes with awards for Coach of the Year, Rookie Coach of the Year, Parents of the Year, Player of the Year and more.

Tournaments- Liverpool FC America is very proud of our upcoming Tournament Circuit. The Legacy Freedom Cup in February us the #1 Ranked Warm-up Tournament in Texas and is our cornerstone event. This year we will add two other major tournaments, three 4v4 tournaments and two indoor tournaments. This exciting line-up is sure to bring tournament fun to every aspect of academy and club soccer.

Spiritwear- Liverpool sports more Spiritwear than any other club in Texas. With changes for the seasons and the year, the player centered culture.

Goalkeeping Training- Led by three-time National Champion Keeper Keri Lief Baker and SMU standout, ODP State, Regional and National team keeper Becca Lief Willett, Joe Waggoner and his Keeper Zone organization and Shelley Wilhelm with our academy keepers round out this is world-class program strengthening the backfield of every team.  Distinguishing themselves among Texas' best keeper coaches, these Liverpool coaches span out across three regions to bring excellent keeper training to the teams each week.

Game Day Traditions- Liverpool has created a reverence for the English Premier League game day traditions by adopting three of the greatest ones.  Every game is marked with the Liverpool flag flown on the player’s sidelines.  After each match, the players show their respect and appreciation for the authority of the game with the referee giving a handshake, knuckle punch or high five.  And at the very end of the match, much like the EPL players, the final gesture of appreciation goes to the fans in the stands.  With a slow jog across the field, the team applauds their families, showing their appreciation for their support and efforts made to attend the game.

Trunk Shows- In an effort to include every family, Liverpool takes our Spiritwear on the road with our “trunk show” twice a year.  The fun of working together on this event, interacting with the parents, creating that family atmosphere helps all of our satellite training facilities from Keller in Tarrant County to Plano, to Allen, to Lewisville and Flower Mound and The Colony feel very much like a part of the whole.  Family, Quality, Culture, Tradition and Value… these are the Focus Elements upon which our club is built.  It is the philosophy we embrace when dealing with our customers.  We are proud to say that our spiritwear and trunk shows have already become part of that culture!

Club of Character- Liverpool is proud to define ourselves as a “Club of Character.”  There could be no more important differentiating aspect for us in the North Texas community of soccer clubs.  Acting with integrity, creating a great experience for players, constantly pushing ourselves to be better and to learn and grow as a club… all of those things stand at the very core of who we are and why we want to be the club you choose.  Our coaches respect each other, work together, communicate in professional ways, uphold the time honored traditions of our namesake and deliver a first-class environment for their team on a daily basis.   Politics are not a part of our club.  While we may not always get everything right, we care about getting it right.  Only 4 years old, Liverpool FC America is already turning heads and making people talk.  We have everything we need in the form of great kids, outstanding families, solid direction and a willingness to always try and do more.

Liverpool was founded on three pillars of excellence:
  1. Club of Character
  2. Our Constant Focus on Quality
  3. Young Club Rich in Heritage and History
We are proud of our club, our parents and our athletes. We want to invite every player and family to become involved in the success of Liverpool.   What helps one athlete helps us all!

College Athlete Placement Program (CAPP Program)- The College Athlete Placement Program was started in 2009, with two teams and one college program workshop. Since then, it has blossomed into a four part series with a significant financial commitment on the part of Liverpool FC America. The program incorporates what both parents and players need know about the months or years ahead of them in regards to curriculum, decisions, motives and protocol to help make great decisions when they are called to do so.

Liverpool Reds Academy- Friday Night Academy Skills- This advanced academy skills program is dedicated to building a foundation of excellent skill, confidence and technique within each academy player, thereby ensuring success in competition. Our new Director of Academy, along with our professional coaching staff will conduct the sessions. The academy skills program will be scheduled throughout our seven facilities with a variety of times. Please check our website for the times and locations.

Street Soccer- This is a fun, fast-paced program inviting youth from across the metro area to join in a fun-filled hour of soccer in the purest form. Street Soccer starts with a quick 15 minutes technical skill session designed for each age group. The players learn this skill, practice it and then are challenged to use it in small-sided game situations. For the final 45 minutes, the players are divided into small groups that then play a 4v4 or 5v5 format with great opportunities to try their new skills, strategies with a game that constantly resets each time a goal is scored. Professional Liverpool coaches are there to supervise, guide, teach and help out, but mostly it is the game itself that becomes the teacher, and these young students are more than delighted to learn! Great program, and free of charge to the community.
