The Reds

Long known as "The Reds" when they take the field, the Liverpool FC America Academy 9’s and 10’s echo the world famous nickname for The Liverpool FC First team.  U-9’s and U-10’s occupy that "golden age" of learning where new skills, knowledge and confidence seem easy for an athlete.  This is when the player actually starts to see the field and learns the development of the play and the stategies of moving the ball. It is exciting to see the game develop with this age group because of their creative nature and their willingness to take risks with new moves and skills while keeping stategies and directions in focus.

These athletes are in their finest hour of absorbing great technique, successful habits and the foundation of skill and then taking that knowledge to the field.  It is the smart strategies and incredible confidence learned in this program that will carry them through their competitive years.

The Kopites

This original Liverpool name taken from the legends of the "Kop" reflects the spirit and pure enthusiasm fans have for Liverpool.  Within Liverpool’s stadium is a storied area called the Kop.  It is the most spirited area within Anfield.  The roar of the crowd stemming from the Kop signifies the pure devotion to the team and to the city.  It is this single spirit behind Liverpool that gave us the name for our U-7 and U-8 program. 

The "Kopites" of LFCA are our youngest athletes who show our greatest future in the game.  The Kopites, while under the umbrella of The Reds Academy are learning in a very different arena than their older counter parts in the Reds.  The Kopites are learning the basic fundamental building blocks in a fun, age appropriate, way.
 
The important difference between the Kopite player and the Reds player is the Kopites are learning the incredible things their feet can do with the ball while at the Reds level they learn how to play the ball to the team’s advantage.
