Midfielder Wilco Ravestijn brings Liverpool impressive talent and international experience. Wilco began playing for SVV, a team in the upper level youth league of the Netherlands, at the age of 10. In 1993 he was recruited by West Virginia Wesleyan College where he was a four-year starter. Wilco led the Bobcats to the Division II National Championship in 1994 and received honors for 1st team All-Conference, 1st team All-South Atlantic, Conference Most Valuable Player of the Year, All-American and Wilco was selected to the Collegiate All-Star team of the East, where the top 18 players are picked from the NCAA Division II, III and the NAIA. Wilco was signed by the Dallas Sidekicks in ’97 and in ’98 signed with teh A-League team the Richmond Kickers.
In addition to the experience of the reputable Dutch coaching systems, Wilco obtained a National USSF "A" coaching license in 2001 and also holds a National Youth Coaching License and NSCAA Premier license. He has 12 years coaching experience coaching a diverse base of age and level. Wilco resides in Plano with his wife Kelly and first born Nico.
Wilco is one of the most well-respected and established coaches in the North Texas market leaving his fingerprint across the Boys Classic league for many years. Wilco is Liverpool FC America’s first Boys Director and will be working hand in hand with the coaches within the club to build unequaled quality and a promising future for LFCA athletes and families.
