Liverpool 00 Boys Alonso (Pedroso)

2012 - 2013 Regular

Team Legend – Xabi Alonso
Midfielder Xabi Alonso was a true Kop favourite with a reputation as one of the best passers in the game. Alonso made his debut at Bolton's Reebok Stadium on August 29, 2004. Two months later he put in a dazzling performance against Fulham at Craven Cottage which had Kopites purring. With the Reds 2-0 down at half-time, Benitez threw on his new boy. The midfielder duly inspired a miraculous comeback, with the game ending 2-4.

Semifinalist - Undefeated in group play

Liverpool '00 Alonso went undefeated in group play 2-0-1 to advance to the Semifinals of the 2012 XARA Fall Classic.  The semifinal game looked to be a good evenly matched contest against a well known training partner, the Liverpool '01 Chambers team, also coached by GP.

The game was well contested, wtih both sides moving the ball well.   Liverpool '00 Alonso scored first  and took a 1-0 lead into the half.  As play resumed, a PK was awarded to the Chambers team and subsequently converted to even the score at 1-1.

After many chances by both sides, the Chambers team took a well timed pass into the box, and scored for the go ahead goal.  Both teams continued to apply pressure and push for opportunities.  The game ended with a 1-2 result for Chambers.
