The Liverpool 06 Girls Scott are a newly formed team, based out of Arlington and is coached by Anthony Austin. The girls have quickly developed a strong friendship and are learning the technical side of the game. These athletics girls are focusing most of their time on 1v1 skills, coordination & balance, and short passing. Through repetition and fun, small-sided games, this 06 Girls Academy team is developing at a rapid pace. We currently play in 3v3 and 4v4 leagues in and around Arlington and other surrounding areas and will play together in a local rec league during the outdoor season. Liverpool 06 Girls Scott players will be encouraged to try new things and test their skills without fear or failure or reprimand. Creativity and discipline in technique are keys to success and development. Coach Austin is looking to add a couple players to the current team. The team practices on Monday’ s and Wednesday’s at the Workman Jr. High training facility in Arlington . If interested in joining the 06 Girls Scott team please contact Coach Austin or Manager Kensesy Hallman.
Team Legend – Elisha Scott
The legend of Elisha Scott will live forever in Liverpool folklore. The Northern Ireland international is regarded by some as the greatest goalkeeper ever to guard the Anfield net after 21 years on Merseyside which saw him tot up nearly 500 appearances. Born in Belfast, he followed in the footsteps of his older brother Billy, who was a stopper for Everton and Ireland. Scott Jr signed for Linfield aged just 14 but was soon moved on to Broadway United where he learnt his trade until Billy recommended him to his peers at Goodison. Fortunately for Liverpool, Everton deemed him too young, and when Billy then tipped off Anfield chairman John McKenna, the Reds did not hesitate in swooping for the 17-year old.
