Omar Mercado
Omar Mercado
Omar has over 25 years of coaching and playing experience. He has coached in clubs such as: Texas Lightning, Southwest SC, Revolution SC, Sting and Dallas Texans South. He has coached competitive soccer in the DFW area since 1995 and has played for several professional teams such as the Texas Toros and the Texas Rattlers, formerly of the USL.
He has coached at Arlington Seguin (2005-2009 assisted the girls’ varsity program), Dallas South Oak Cliff (2009-2011, boys’ varsity coach), Lancaster (2011-2012 boys’ varsity coach), Duncanville High School (2012-present). He also coached at Mt. View College from 1996-1998 and led the team for most victories that year.
He currently holds a National Youth Diploma and a USSF D license.
