One of the most-decorated players in English football history, with a quite astonishing run of consecutive appearances for Liverpool… 417 games in a row, a Liverpool record. He became an all-time great and was very much a TEAM player but having said that his own performances throughout his long career were always of a very high standard.
Coach's Update - Feb 2012
My coaching philosophy is most importantly that the players have a fun and positive experience. As a coach, it is my job to provide the parameters where players have fun learning technical skills and discovering methods to find success on the field.
I focus in individual technique and creativity, as well as player development over team play. Each player must be able to keep possession of the ball and beat players 1 v 1 before the rest of the game can be taught.
I believe in letting the kids play. I try not to over coach during games and training matches. I believe the players must learn to find their own solutions to problems on the field. If they are constantly given the answers to problems, they will not learn to think creatively. Each player is different and players discover different ways to solving problems on the field. We must let them discover the game.
Looking for Additional Team Members
We are currently looking for some additional players that would like to become part of our team. We practice twice a week under the direction of a top-class, certified coach, in a positive learning environment. We average one game per week where the girls have the opportunity to display their hard work, excitement and team spirit. As a parent, it is extremely rewarding to watch the players improve and develop their skills.
